Deaconess Vera Stack-Davies
(Women’s ministry Leader)
Who best represents you in the bible and why?
Mary Magdelene was a disciple of Jesus Christ. She was cured of a unspecific illness. She led a group of women who provided for Jesus and his disciples from their own resources. She is called an apostle by the apostles because she saw the risen Jesus first. This women best represents me because she was able to do many things for the ministry and stay faithful to the end. Women are valid witnesses for Christ. The idea of a women as a primary witness does not seem unusual in the 21st century but it was a revolutionary concept at that time. The testimony of a women was not given the same weight as a mans even in a court of law. Mary’s witnessing to the resurrection reversed this.
What are you passionate about?
I am passionate about sharing the word of God and teaching it so that it is understood by all people from different backgrounds. The word of God is powerful and can motivate people and change us to become children of God. I enjoy the debate and sharing ideas and learning from it, and the impact it has on our lives as we become doers of the word. People’s lives become saved by hearing the word of God. Some addicts are even set free! Once people begin to serve the Lord they find meaning in life once again.
What is your testimony?
Where I was before I had no hope in situations. Now I know that believing and trusting in the Lord I HAVE HOPE! Worshipping God, The Lord Jesus Christ, has given me a new lease of life. Jesus has done so many wonderful things in my life. Due to family problems I was separated from my brothers for many years and we were not on speaking terms. BUT the Lord has brought us together and we are now united and on speaking terms again. We are a family once more!
How long have you been in the ministry?
